FOR 3139, 3140 and 3141 PRINTERS
A new set of scanner filters for 3140 and 3141 printers matches the scanner spectral sensitivity to the RA papers for superior performance and outstanding work.
Benefits include:
OVERVIEW
The FINISys Scanner Upgrade matches the spectral sensitivity of the scanner closely to the papers. Also included in the kit, is a set of rollers designed to improve the operation of the filmtransport (3141 Printer) or the Filmdeck Reliability Kit (3139/40 Printer).
SCANNER MODIFICATION
The scanner upgrade consists of dichroic filters for all 3 color sensors (blue, green and red). Rather than having a "universal" solution as is currently installed in the (FCS) printer - which gives only compromises (as different manufacturers products vary greatly, especially considering EP vs. RA process), the FINISys scanner is closely matched to the specifics of the paper.
FILM ROLLER MODIFICATION (3414 Printer)
The Filmtransport of the 3141 printer has some inherent weaknesses:
FILM DECK MODIFICATION (3140 Printer)
This kit eliminates the troublesome Micro-switches used as notch sensors in the Filmdeck. The existing switches are used both to sense notches and return the sensing levers, which results in spring pressures which vary considerably over the life expectancy of the switch, causing inconsistent sensing points. Switch life is also very poor, with switch failures occuring approximately every 25,000 film rolls. Problems related to the microswitches are:
The filmdeck reliability improves the print quality, reduces maintenance, downtime and paper waste.
INSTALLATION
The Scanner Upgrade Kit is user installable. A comprehensive instruction package for qualified Maintenance and Quality Control Personnel is included with each kit. Installation by FINISys personnel can be requested as an option.
