1. OVERVIEW
The newly announced release of the new papers EDGE 5 and ROYAL V by KODAK requires special handling for matching printing with different surfaces and printers. In addition to the changes announced, a change in the spectral sensitivity of the paper has been made, that requires additional work (beyond a crossover procedure) to obtain complete matching.
2. RECOMMENDATIONS
Edge 2 / Royal II and Edge 5 / Royal V papers should not be run under the same master paper channel. Each type paper should have its own master paper channel and its own paper matrix established. This may be inconvenient, until all paper is of the new type. However, field experience has shown that matching under the same paper matrix is less than perfect.
Since the basic slope is primarily the printer/scanner behaviour, it can be shared (copy the old master into a new channel, then change this new channel to a new master with MPC) and then run a paper matrix for this new channel. Attach all other format that run the new paper to this new master.
