Q.A. BULLETINS

NUMBER FNS-QA-011
PRODUCT 3141 PRINTERS with FINISys Inc. SCANNER UPGRADE
SUBJECT CROSS-OVER PROCEDURE for NEW TEST NEG. STRIP
DATE MAY 8, 1997

1. OVERVIEW

When a new Test Negative Strip is put into service, the results of a TEST C will not be the same due to the age of the old strip (bleaching, scratching etc.). To simply correct the difference in the Paper Channel (TDPA or TEST M) would now result in an effective change of aims. The following Procedure adjusts printing of the TEST without changing printing aims.

2. PROCEDURE

Prior to putting the new test negative strip into use, insure that the printer is at aim, using the old strip and TEST C/M (or TEST C and TDPA).

When the Test is in control, print a TEST C again, using the new Test Negative strip. After the test is processed, read it at the printer (with the online densitometer) and the command TDRE instead of TEST M. The correction will now be made (automatically) to the RET of the Film channel (used for Paper Tests). The PAP of the master Paper Channel is unchanged, and thus no change in aim will occur.
