UPGRADE FOR 3140 / 3141 PRINTER DX READERS

OVERVIEW

As standard equipment, the DX Reader LED cable is prone to breakage because of the constant opening and closing of the reader lid. The three part DX Reader Reliability Kit replaces the wires currently used for the LEDs with high flexibility ribbon cable, and protects exposed reader cells with two miniature optical flats, preventing dirt accumulation inside the reader cells which causes DX read failures.

PRINTER DESIGN PROBLEM

When a DX Code cannot be read, the film is printed in default. While the default channel should be representative of the majority of film which your lab processes, the non-read failure may occur on a different type, which creates prints of poor quality and potential make-overs. When the DX Reader stops functioning entirely, the printer must be shut down for maintenance; production time is lost.

SOLUTIONS

Down-time caused by broken LED wires or dirty reader cells is eliminated; maintenance requirements are reduced.Consistency of print quality is increased. All films with readable DX codes are printed in the assigned film channel. Fewer Make-overs save both time and money.
